Coming soon – New training camp dates September 2021 onwards for both locations – Yorkshire and Costa Blanca

“For some time I have been looking for the right environment in terms of location, climate, terrain, jaw dropping scenery, luxurious accommodation and endless options for group training rides in order to create the perfect training experience for cyclists – our bases in Costa Blanca, Spain and N. Yorkshire, England tick all these boxes.

Working with the team at Ride Tribe I have developed a week of unrivalled training, recovery, nutrition, advice and cycling technique analysis that will raise your game and most importantly – riding with fellow cyclists who all share the same common aims – to ride, to improve and most importantly to have fun doing it! Come ride with me – It’s an unforgettable experience that will have you coming back time after time.

Riding with Legends: the Sean Yates Experience

When you sign up to a Riding With Legends Week you will get the full expertise and coaching experience of Sean Yates and the team at Ride Tribe. You’ll be part of a carefully structured and planned week of training personally devised by Sean and tailored to suit your needs.

You’ll have exclusive access to Sean who will ride part of the day’s route with you and watch you from the team car offering advice and guidance. Sean’s wealth of experience – as a rider, a directeur sportif and as a coach will develop your skills as a cyclist – whatever level you are at and whatever targets you have set yourself for the season – Sean will help get you there – and we’ll also have a lot of fun doing it!

Before you arrive on the Sean Yates Riding With Legends Week we’ll arrange a one on one video call to discuss your cycling history, targets for the year, identify your strengths and understand your weak points which we’ll focus on during training.

We will also discuss your nutrition, analyse your diet and have you complete a basic diet diary. A key part to improving your cycling is nutrition – the correct diet will boost your performance. During your week with us we’ll explain and share key nutrition and guidance, help you understand key food groups, what to eat and more importantly when. Get your diet and nutrition right and improvements in your cycling follow.

Arrival day
We’ll personally meet and take you and your bikebox directly to our accommodation and we’ll have a range of refreshments on hand to revive you after your flight/ train journey.

We are fully compliant with the latest COVID-19 health and safety protocols and have a stringent regime in place that ensures your utmost health and safety. Hand sanitiser is key and we ensure and encourage everyone to be considerate and share responsibility for maintaining the health of your fellow riders and team members.

Airport transfer time to our N. Yorkshire accommodation base – approximately 60 minutes.

Upon arrival at our accommodation we’ll get you checked into your room and then set up your bike with our mechanic on hand in case of any issues. You’ll be able to meet your fellow riders as well. Depending on the time of day and bike setup time, we’ll go for a short flat 10-15km spin to ensure you’re comfortable with your bike before the following day’s first ride.

In the evening we will have our Welcome dinner with Sean during which we’ll run through the next day’s ride/ route and chat with Sean as he shares his insights into the world of pro-cycling.

Ride days
During the week we’ll have five days of riding split with an option of a rest day. Rides will be 3-6 hours in duration with a range of key climbs and a café lunch stop.

We are going to push you during the week and nudge you out your comfort zone – this will make you a better, faster cyclist. Training is all about small incremental efforts and we’ll push you  – When you’re back home riding you will thank us!

Ride departure time: After a great breakfast we’ll roll out at about 10am.

On board the team car we have complimentary nutrition bars and fluids for you to help yourself to.

Return to HQ: Post ride recovery drinks and snacks to ensure calorie replacement plus for those who feel they deserve it – complimentary Belgian beers to round the day off.

Also available is our own in house masseur should your muscles need working over.

Post ride, either over dinner or immediately after the ride, Sean will be on hand to review your day’s work and offer up advice and tips to improve your cycling.

Evening Group Dinner: After some well earned downtime we meet for dinner.

Over dinner we discuss and review your day’s ride with you, analyse your cycling technique and share our thoughts on where there is room for improvement. We’ll run through the route/ride for the following day’s ride out and encourage you to ask us any questions you have about cycling – want to know more about power meters just ask us, want to discuss bike maintenance just ask, quiz us on iconic cycling climbs – just ask, Sean’s favourite races – just ask. (Warning – asking Sean about his favourite races and highlights can lead to a 2-3 hour audience with Sean!).

On our last night we’ve got a big farewell dinner for our riders before they head home – and Sean will be on hand to sign copies of his autobiography included in riders Welcome musette bags, hand out ‘I’ve survived a week with the Animal’ t-shirts and say goodbye to you.

We’ll also have a few awards to give out plus the award for the most improved rider.

Optional rest / recovery day
In the itinerary we include an optional rest day. Rest days are a time to relax and recover – both mentally and physically – and are essential for muscle recovery and growth. Less is better for the body – All too often athletes, at all levels, over train leading to longterm muscle fatigue – Take your rest days!

It’s entirely up to you how you want to spend the day – do as little or as much as you like – that’s why it’s called a rest day.

If you have some energy to burn off we can organise a light workout with our local gym partner who’ll take you through a low intensity recovery day workout. If you’ve never been in the gym or find the whole experience of going to a gym daunting this is for you – Our personal gym trainer and Ride Tribe crew member will show you what exercise machines and routines you should be incorporating into your exercise regime to build and strengthen your key muscles for better training and increased endurance.

If you want to down tools and have a real rest day away from the bike we’ve also got plenty of options.

Meals & nutrition

At Ride Tribe we view diet and nutrition as an essential foundation to obtaining successful training results, increasing your levels of endurance, faster recovery times and aiding muscle growth.

When you train with us you’ll be enjoying freshly cooked tasty food throughout your stay.

Prior to your arrival you will be sent a menu for the week and asked to make your selection. This ensures you know you’re getting food you like and helps our chef plan and deliver the week’s meals.

Kickstarts your body and gets your metabolism rolling – Choose from pastries and breads, delicious porridge with a range of toppings, eggs cooked as you like them, juices and smoothies and plenty of coffee – guaranteed to set you up for a great day’s training.
We’ll stop en route at a café of our choice for a light lunch and plenty of coffee.
Post ride recovery drinks and snacks to ensure calorie replacement plus for those who feel they deserve it – complimentary Belgium beers to round the day off.
Our chef has devised an outstanding, mouth-watering menu to complement your week setting you up for the next day’s challenge.

The menu is carefully crafted to include key food groups, minerals and vitamins essential for your recovery after a hard day on the bike.
